My Weekend
Field Trip
Ok so today my lab and I wet on a
field trip to the Krohn’s Conservatory and I went to the Butterfly Hall. You
walk into a room FILLED with butterflies and beautiful, bright flowers and hot
sweaty humidity. There are all kinds of butterflies; there is butterflies that
have camouflage on the outside and a beautiful blue color on the inside,
orange, black with red stripes, black with white stripes, etc. I was with my
friend Dylian and he helped me catch a black and blue one and of course as soon
as I start holding it a stupid wasp flies in my face and, knowing me, I flip
out and run away screaming “NOPE!” and I
lose my butterfly. L
By the end, we had sweat pouring down our fore heads. We had been walking in
the heat all day and sitting on the hot, sweaty, grossly humid bus with at
least twenty other kids my age who is also sweating as much as I am. Then we
went to the Cincinnati Art Museum and the air conditioning felt so good! But
the art was very pretty awesome too. I saw this one painting of a woman breast feeding her two children. The
time era was from the Italian Renaissance and I’m not sure why it caught my
attention so much but it did. After we left the museum, Brandon, Kevin, Damon,
and I went back to the bus for some lunch. Dylian and Hannah followed soon
after and once it started raining everyone got off the bus to try and cool off.
I was standing by the guardrail and Dylian “ACCIDENTLY” pushed me and I fell
over the railing and scratched up the back of my knees. Then we all returned to
the bus and went back to Diamond to catch our bus’ home. It was a pretty fun
field trip all in all.

Food
So I haven’t yet told you guys about my love for food. I’m
not kidding you when I say I eat ALL the time. I don’t even have a favorite
meal, let alone food. I like some of the weirdest things and some of the
unhealthiest foods for your daily diet. I may weigh only 124 pounds but I will
weigh twice within 10 years.
·
To start off the list is something simple:
spaghetti. My personal favorite is spaghetti with meatballs and original
spaghetti sauce with some Parmesan cheese on top. I also love spaghetti with chili
and a ton of cheese stacked on top. I’ve loved spaghetti since I was a kid and
I make it at home at least once a week.
·
Next is Cheesy stuffed crust pizza. Kassidy and I have spent hundreds of dollars
at Pizza Hut just for a large pizza with pineapples on it. I used to work at
Pizza Hut (sadly) and I learned how to actually make it so one day whenever I
decide to learn how to make home made pizza dough I’m going to make a cheesy
stuffed crust pizza every night and become awesomely fat with diabetes.
·
Another childhood favorite of almost everyone is
Grilled Cheese and Tomato soup. I wont eat Tomato soup without crackers and a
Grilled Cheese. Fun fact: When I was younger I used to think it was called Girl Cheese instead of Grilled Cheese and my parents never
actually corrected me on it so I believed it was Girl Cheese until I was almost
9. Not one of my brightest moments as a child.
·
At Taco Bell, my mother introduced me to the
Cheesy Gordita Crunch taco and it’s been one of my favorites since then. To have
taco meat, pepper jack sauce, lettuce, and cheese wrapped up in a hard AND soft
tortilla shell, while only being separated by a layer of cheese. If you haven’t
noticed a pattern in these foods, I really like cheese.
·
Mozzarella cheese sticks can be made anywhere
but only certain ones are the best. I love my cheese sticks to be crunchy on
the outside while on the inside, the cheese must be melted to the perfection
where its not spilling out but where its stringy and warm and delicious.
·
This, right here, is a bacon wrapped scallop.
I’ve never heard of it, never seen it, and couldn’t believe it was real when I
was told about a bacon wrapped
scallop. I just recently tried it last weekend during my first visit to Bone
Fish Grill. It is literally one of the best foods I have ever tasted. I’m not
even a big fish fan, but this was a creation from God.
·
I love Salisbury steak. No one can tell me
anything to make me hate it. I always make it with a side of mash potatoes and
corn. I cut up my steak and mix it up with the corn and mashed potatoes. Then I
get the gravy that is left over and mix it in with my dogs’ food. And I know
Salisbury steak isn’t really steak, and honestly, I DON’T CARE. I like it.
·
I’m not high maintenance, but I really love
sushi. My favorite sushi roll is the spider roll. It’s made of soft-shell crab,
cucumber, avocado, lettuce, spicy mayonnaise, rice, and seaweed. I love how
it’s slightly crunchy on the inside but it has so many textures and flavors in
it that it’s just one of a kind.
·
Almost everyone loves Chipotle. I go there so
often they know what I’m going to get before I even order. I smother it with
sour cream. It’s as if when you say extra sour cream, they don’t understand
what you mean. “Oh, you just want a little drop more? Is that what you mean by extra?” NO I want my chicken swimming in
my sour cream. I have t say another scoop twice after I already have said I
want extra. Chipotle is still good though.
·
Ok, I’ll admit, I’m addicted to McDonald’s. I
memorized the price of my Frappe and everything. I love chocolate so I always
get mocha instead of caramel. I also only get a medium fries with my frappe
too.
·
Yesterday I tried my first French Silk Pie from
Dairy Queen. I’ve never been able to finish a blizzard from Dairy Queen before,
and I finished this one and it was awesome.
·
If you’ve ever been to UDF, you knoq they have
some weird ice cream. My favorite is called Paintball Blast. You’re actually
allowed to try samples of flavors so if you ever go into UDF and Paintball
blast is there, try it. It’s REALLY good.
·
Last is Strawberry Delight. My mom has made this
since I was a kid. It’s layers of angel food cake, strawberry glaze,
strawberries, and whipped cream/cream cheese. It is the most heavenly desert I
have ever had.

Sea horse info
Fun fact of the day! Did you know male sea horses GIVE
BIRTH? And even weirder, they give birth THROUGH THEIR CHESTS. I watched the
video in English today and oh my gosh it looks like an evil alien octopus is
trying to be expelled from the sea horses chest. The baby sea horses tails are
hanging out from the dad’s stomach and their tails are just floating and
flipping in the water it’s so weird!! It’s creepy and the babies look like
skeletons. My English teacher decided that the class needed to see it today and
she was right when she said it’s disgusting. The poor daddy seahorse looks like
he’s trying to throw up but nothing wants to come out. And there is a HOLE in
his CHEST filled with babies! Seahorses can carry from fifty to fifteen hundred
eggs, depending on the size of the seahorse. When he is giving birth he
literally has to grab on to something with his tail to help him it’s so sad and
disgusting at the same time I don’t know what to think. Male seahorses are “pregnant”
from anywhere between two to four weeks and contractions can last up to twelve
hours! Baby seahorses are also known as fry. That is probably the weirdest name
to give them especially since they look nothing like fries and don’t even look
like they were fried so I think that’s a poor choice in the naming system. Less
than one thousand fry will survive because of predators. I never knew how weird
sea horses could be, but thank you Ms. B for reminding the human race that
child birth can be so much more difficult then what we do.
Quotes
“Try to be like the turtle, at
ease in your own shell” –Bill Copeland
I really like this quote because Bill is telling us to chill
out. Every once in a while we need to take a minute for ourselves to just calm
down and relax; there is no need to be stressed out all the time. A little time
to ourselves every once in a while is healthy for us.
“If we did all the things we are capable of, we would literally astound
ourselves”-Thomas Edison
To me, this quote means that if we can do anything if we
push ourselves to do so. The more we realize what we are able to accomplish, we
will amaze ourselves. We can do anything
we put our minds to it, as long as we believe in ourselves.
“We can change our lives. We can do, have, and be exactly what we wish”
–Tony Robbins
We contain the power to change our lives. Imagine life being
a ball of silly putty or play-dough in our hands. We are able to morph our
lives into what we want it to be. We control the path our life goes on. If you
were born in poverty, then you can get great grades in school, get scholarships
to college, get yourself into a successful career and live a happy life.
“Give life and people will find the way” –Ella Baker
I put this quote on here because, well, I like it and it
sounds pretty.

These are all of my pets. Mama is the youngest, she just turned one in February and we've had her for about a year. Toby is about three who came with my sister when she moved back in. Then there's Smokey, who will be 14 in October. We've had him since he was a puppy and now he's all fat and lazy and cute.

These are my brothers, sisters, and my mom. I don't have any pictures of my step-dad so he's not in here.
I work at a Frozen-yogurt shop called Orange Leaf. It is exactly like ice cream (but has less calories) and OL is the best job I've ever had.
Channing Tatum is amazing all around. He's my favorite actor because he can play whatever role you need him to and he's unbelievably hot. If you haven't seen Magic Mike, you need to.
This is Diamond Oaks. I go to school here all day and hope to graduate next year.
I'm also an Adobe Certified Associate in Adobe Illustrator. It's hard to explain exactly what Illustrator is but basically it's like making pretty pictures on a computer.
This is another picture of me and my boyfriend. We don't take too many pictures together because he always wants to make an inappropriate face/gesture or takes a bad picture. I think there is only 15 pictures that we have together throughout the course of our relationship.

Random news for today!

Kraft issued a major cottage cheese recall on Saturday after realizing some of the ingredients were not stored at the right temperature needed. Products coded with the expiration dates May 9th and July 23rd were only shipped to the US, so whoever has these date-stamped cottage cheese, make sure you don’t eat it or you might get sick.

Rant of the day #1
Is it just me or does anyone else
understand why you have to pay to get into Honor Society? We work all year to
get good grades and keep up a good GPA and then we have to pay 25 dollars to be
recognized for it? No, that's a bunch of bull crap. You want to be recognized
by awesome colleges and eligible for more scholarships? All right, I want this
much money for it. Does that even make sense? This is just one of the stupid
ways a program tries to trick people into paying for something that they
shouldn't have to pay for. Honor Society should be free. If you earn good
grades and have a 90% attendance rate with little to no disciplinary/criminal
background, you shouldn't have to pay money to be recognized for that. This is
probably WHY a lot of kids don't feel the need to try, because it's just a
bunch of crap. Some children don't have money! So if they don't have money you
wont let them be in a club that could benefit their future for college
applications and jobs dramatically? If they are financially unstable then they
cannot be acknowledged for the hard work they put themselves through to try and
make a better future. That is one of the stupidest things I've ever even heard
in my life. It's an honor to be apart of the club; don't get me wrong, but if
you are going to make your students pay to be appreciated by others for their
hard work, then you need to rethink what goals you are trying to teach your
youth. What I'm seeing is whether you do nothing in school or do everything,
you have to pay money to even have someone important cognize your achievements.
Rant is now accomplished.
What's on the news today?
Apparently in Oklahoma, 2/3 of people support using an
alternative method for the death penalty if the needle is taken away. Honestly
I would have to agree. If you’re convicted for murder, rape, etc. and there is
overwhelming evidence that you have done so, then I believe you should die. “An
eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind” may be true, but if one of your
loved ones were murdered and the killer is sent to live in prison for the rest
of their lives, where it is rent free, food free, and don’t have to pay the
usual bills adults have to pay (like insurance, gas, electric, water, etc.),
wouldn’t you be ticked off? The killer who murdered your loved one is living
the rest of his life in a non-responsibility held institution? Sure, I know it’s
prison, and I know prison sucks. Trust me, I’ve had enough family members tell
me stories about jail and prison for me to know it’s not really fun. But how I see
it in my eyes is why would you let a killer live, just because people think it’s
wrong to go with the death penalty? Murder is wrong, and obviously the criminal
didn’t follow the law or else they wouldn’t be there! Do unto others as they do
unto you. They want to kill someone? They can be killed too. If you have your
morals about capital punishment that’s fine but until you have a loved one
murdered, I don’t want to hear about your opinion.

A little more in depth
Ok so blog
number 2 is all about the pictures.
This is me
and my boyfriend Trey. We’ve been dating since the beginning of freshman year.
He also goes to Diamond with me for Welding.
This is my
youngest sister, Aryanna, who will be 6 in November. I have 6 brothers and
sisters but I’m not hunting through a thousand pictures to find one of each of
them. It’s also a really complicated story on how each of them is related to
me.
My step dad, Adam, had my oldest
brother (Cody Jo) at like 16 or 17. Cody and his mom moved to Tennessee without
Adam and we never met Cody until 2012. I never even heard of him until I was in
6th grade. Next are my brother Marcus and I. We have the same mom
and dad and our parents separated when we were about 8. My mom had a friend named Jenny (Adam’s
ex-wife) who had two of Adam’s other kids while he was in prison. One of Adam’s
other son, Taylor, lives in Colorado with Jenny’s Aunt and Uncle since Adam
went to prison. His daughter, Taby, who is the same age as me, became my best
friend. We ended up taking Taby and her youngest brother (Trevor) in to live
with us. When Adam got out of Prison and met my mom, they got together, my mom
got pregnant with Aryanna, and after she was born they were married a year
later. So all together there is seven of us:
·
Cody, 20
·
Marcus, 18
·
Miranda, 17
·
Tabatha, 17
·
Taylor, 16
·
Trevor, 13
·
Aryanna, 5

Angel^ Haley^ |
These
are my best friends. Haley is my cousin, but everyone else has been my firend
since junior high. The weird dude in the back is an old friend from forever
ago. I hang out with Kassidy and Haley the most, and I’ll see Angel when I can.
We used to hang out more but her stupid POS boyfriend is crazy and I just
really hate him.
I have a
picture of the little mermaid because I LOVE Ariel. My next tattoo will be
something with her in it.

Well my house is over a century old. It’s pretty much falling apart at the seams, and about two winters ago an idiot decided to use it as a parking garage for his car. Even though there is a STOP SIGN IN MY FRONT YARD SOMEHOW HE OVERTURNED (WHEN THE TURN IS AFTER THE STOP SIGN) AND RAN INTO MY ALREADY CRAPPY HOUSE. People are so smart sometimes. :)
Second blog done will be back tomorrow.
Tuesday, May 13, 2014
Well this
is my first blog so I’m not sure what I ‘m supposed to say. My name is Miranda
and I'm a Junior in High School at Diamond Oaks Vocational School. It’s like a mini college, and my
lab/major is in Digital Arts and Design. My home school is called Harrison High
School, home of the hillbillies/ghetto gangsters/country kids/hipsters/etc. My favorite colors are neon green and pink. My
theme of this blog is pretty much to explain my life. I think its completely
crazy and most of my close friends definitely agree. I guess as I add more
blogs whoever is reading will eventually find out and you can make your own
opinion on it, I don’t really care.
Some
interests of mine are:
·
Drawing
·
Reading
·
Hanging out with my best friends/boyfriend
·
Cooking
·
Listening to music
·
Sleeping
·
And, when I can, I just relax
I can be REALLY boring if u don’t know me that well. If I
was to sit next to you on the first day of school and I have no idea who you
are, don’t expect me to talk to you or even look your way. I have nothing
against you, I just don’t like people. I tried doing different this year by
actually talking to people and not being shy or anti-social since I was going
to a new school, and I made two good friends.
So what
really annoys me or “grinds my gears” are a lot of things and I don’t feel like
writing a book so I’m going to go over the everyday things that bother me.
·
Poking and tickling me
·
Calling my sneezes “cute”
·
Asking if there’s anything wrong (when I’m
perfectly OK) repetitively until they make me annoyed
·
Messing with my ears
·
Feet
·
Lying
·
Judgment
·
And overly annoying or loud people
I can be a nice person; I just get annoyed easily because I really
don’t like people. Since I have everything I needed to put I’m gong to end this
post and will be back another time.
